Homerun Hitters

Hit One Out Of The Park!

Welcome top Mrs. Hillman's Homerun Hitter's Club! This is a club for those of you who want to hit one out of the park, by going above and beyond. The idea was taken from another 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Renz, from Oregon; she has a Mastery Club.

(Caution: This club is only for students wishing to get smarter, go above and beyond, impress Mrs. Hillman, their parents, and their classmates.)

The Homerun Hitters is a club for students who are interested in exploring and learning more about this amazing world of ours. All you have to do is learn all about the topic, and then put the answers in the Homerun Hitters basket during your recess,during PAT time, before or after school. You can become a 1 hit member, all the way up to an 84 hit member! Learning never ends and your journey to becoming a life-long learner begins here!

The "Hall of Fame" will be posted in my room and on my webpage and will remain there until I am no longer teaching. Each topic challenge is worth one hit and each gained hit allows you to participate in one of the five Halls of Fame. Once you earn one hit, your name will be placed in the Singles Hall of Fame. You will continue to complete other challenges to work your way up to the Homerun Hall of Fame. Once you become a Homerun Hall of Fame member and reach a hit award level of 84 (the maximum) you will have the special privilege of conducting research and developing new questions to be added to the Homerun Hitters Club. To get started choose any question below. You do not have to do them in order, and you may research the topics using reference books or the following web sites. Your work may be done in school or at home. When you feel you have mastered the content, let me know.
